History

D & S Engineering Labs PLLC traces its roots back to 1981 when Jud Sherman and Charlie Davis formed a long-lasting working relationship centered on quality and service with a local concrete company. Jud Sherman carried this vision through the establishment of a Construction Materials Engineering Testing lab for Isbell Engineering Group in 2000. Through the development of this group and the opening of multiple locations, Jud oversaw growth, client services, and quality control. In 2007, the national firm Clough Harbour & Associates (CHA) acquired Isbell Engineering Group.

In September 2010, Davis and Sherman turned their long-term vision and relationship into D & S Engineering Labs, by purchasing the Construction Materials Group from CHA.

In 2012, D & S Engineering Labs purchased CHA’s Geotechnical Engineering business and hired Mark G. Thomas, P.E., P.G. to head up the new division.

D & S is now, once again, a locally-owned construction materials engineering testing, engineering, and inspection firm serving North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
