Construction Materials Testing Field TechnicianAPPLY NOW

D&S Engineering Labs is looking for experienced and entry level full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians for our locations in Fort Worth, Denton and the Sherman/Denison area. We provide continuous training and certifications for all field technicians, as well as $1,000 in retention bonuses for the first year of service.  CMT Field Technicians observe and test construction materials and report their findings to ensure that projects are completed according to the design Engineer’s plans and specifications.

CMT Field Technician Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform observation and testing of construction materials such as soils, concrete, asphalt, rebar and others
  • Complete daily reports and report findings
  • Professional communication with all external and internal personnel

CMT Field Technician Physical Demands:

  • Ability to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

D&S Engineering Labs is looking for Civil Engineering Interns at our Denton, Denison, and Dallas-Ft. Worth locations.  The candidates will be trained to perform a variety of tests on construction and subsurface materials including soils, sand, concrete and aggregates.

Engineering Intern Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform lab testing according to all specifications as stated in client contract documents and job specifications
  • Record and report test results after performing mathematical calculations
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing with supervisor and staff members
  • Must perform and document all test results in a concise and understandable manner
  • Responsible for submitting all test results in a timely manner
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow appropriate safety practices
  • Valid driver license may be required

D&S Engineering Labs is looking for experienced or entry level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Lab Technician for our office in Denton, Denison, and Dallas-Ft. Worth.

CMT Lab Technician Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform tests on construction materials such as soils, concrete, asphalt and more according to the ASTM testing methods. Some tests include, but are not limited to: plasticity index (PI), Minus #200s, moisture contents, swells, UCs, UUs, sulfates, specific gravity, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), proctors (D698, D1557, 113E, and 114E), compressive strength of cylinders, etc.
  • Record data and their findings legibly
  • Work in a clean and efficient manner
  • Communicate professionally with supervisor and co-workers
